The virusscanner will scan each email delivered for viruses. If a virus is found the email containg the virus will be deleted. No notification will be sent, because the sender address is often forged. The receiving party also does not get notified, because you might get flooded once a large virus outbreak takes place.
The virusfilter is enabled by default. To change this, click on the Filter option behind the emailaddress you wish to change the setting for in the Primerelay CCC.
WARNING: A virus which has not been discovered or which lacks a recognizable pattern can end up in your mailbox. To minimalize this chance the Primerelay virusscanner is updated every hour. This makes the virusscanner a reliable extra protection, but it is still advised to run an anti-virus program on your own computer.
