Some are in Dutch, some are aimed at non-technical home and office users while others aim for more technical users or system administrators. Surf op Safe (Dutch, home/office users) A Dutch project initiated by the government which aims at informing mainly home users of the potential problems of internet usage. Clear and easy information about preventing viruses, the use of firewalls and good practice. Waarschuwingsdienst (Dutch) A project from GovCERT which aims at informing home and advanced users of the current threats in online communications. This site offers a free e-mail or SMS notification service. GovCERT (English version) GovCERT is the Computer Emergency Response Team of the Dutch government. This site informs about the background and legal aspects of security issues and how to deal with them. www.security.nl (Dutch) A Dutch security portal with news, background information, recent threats and discussions. www.microsoft.com/security The Microsoft security pages, informing about the latest threats and available updates for all Microsoft products. This page also has information about how to secure your Windows machines. Internet Storm Center The Internet Storm Center has a daily status update on several security issues that are internet related. Warnings are issued and events are tracked, for most popular applications and a wide variety of operating systems. CERT Coordination Center The homepage for the CERT Coordination Center has lots of useful information about current issues, backgrounds and statistics. They also send out the well-known CERT Advisory mailing list. Bugtraq mailing list (Technical) A famous mailinglist where recent vulnerabilities and threats are disclosed and discussed. This is aimed at the more technical people such as programmers or system administrators. NT Bugtraq mailing list (Technical) NT Bugtraq, a technical mailinglist about Windows NT/2000/XP vulnerabilities. This is also aimed at technical people and system administrators. |
