![]() The webserver produces logfiles of its activities. There are two logfiles, which can both be found in the log directory of your website when you access it with FTP. The accesslog contains all hits your website received and gives details about who requested an object, at what date and time and the result of the request. This logfile contains the information that the statistics programs use to generate the website statistics. You can also download this logfile and process it with a statistics package of your own. The errorlog contains information about errors that occured when visitors viewed your website. If for example a file is not found, or a link points to a non-existing directory, you can find it in the errorlog. The errorlog is also downloadable for offline viewing. Errors or warnings that are produced by PHP scripts are placed in a separate file called phperrorlog. Consult this file if you uploaded a PHP page and it doesn't run as expected. You can download the phperrorlog for offline usage. |
